We are pleased to announce that our new Patron will be Anna Kennedy OBE, who has won Mum of the Year 2013 with Tesco:
Anna was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2012, for her services to Special Needs Education and Autism.
She has two Autistic sons. When a school would not take them and after private tuition did not work either, due to their special requirements, Anna decided to open her own school. The school is called The Hillingdon School and opened in 1999 with 19 pupils.
The Hillingdon School is now the largest of its kind in Europe, offering 150 autistic children a safe, structured education and a brighter future.
It is an honour to have Anna’s Patronage. We look forward to working with her and her various Schools and Colleges and to help provide them with Special Yoga workshops and classes. We wish to make Europe’s best Special Needs schools even better!
David Ellams, our Co-Founder and Executive Director, will also be going into various schools including Anna’s, to give inspiring and empowering talks to children with Special Needs. We will be offering our Yoga4Autism services, which include fun Yoga and Mindfulness Workshops as well as NextGen Junior Developer Training programmes. We are hoping to take our NextGen Junior Developer Training into more schools and Educational Centres.
Yoga4Autism has more exciting news to come and much more planned for the future, so watch this space!
